At this time the people of New Orleans are said to desperately need medical professionals to help with the relief effort.
Howard Dean, DNC chairman is a medical professional.
Why has Howard Dean failed to help his fellow man in a timely manner during this time of crisis by donating his time and skills to the relief effort?
Especially in light of the fact that he has publicly implied that our President intentionally failed to send timely help because the people of New Orleans are primarily black.
Evacuees from Louisiana and Mississippi need money and places to stay untill they can get back on their feet.
Cher, a famous entertainer, has massive amounts of money and unless I miss my guess she has any number of homes which could be used to house those displaced by the recent hurricane.
Why has she failed to offer her resources to help those in need?
Especially in light of the fact that so many with far fewer resources have done so.
Especially in light of the fact that she has publicly criticized the Presidents handling of the relief effort.
Especially in light of the fact that she has publicly criticized policies which she claims benefit only the rich.
She's rich.
Why doesn't she donate her excess wealth--ostensibly gained as a result of the above mentioned policies--to the poor and needy?
How many houses does Cher own?
How many houses does Cher need?
How much money does Cher have?
How much money does Cher need?
She has the resources to aleviate entirely the poverty of scores--even hundreds--of needy families.
Why does she continue to hoard those resources when so many others go without?
How does she rationalize her failure to aleviate human suffering when she has the resources to do so?
One could rightly ask similar questions about Shawn Penn, thought by some to be an actor, Martin Sheen, a well known mental patient famous for believing he's the President, and Michael Moore, a celebrated pie eating contest champion, as well as a host of others.
I know I'm not the only one in America who wonders about these things.
I'd be keenly interested to know the answers.
Maybe someday one of the brave journalists at CNN will have the courage to ask these same questions.
I'm joking of course.

PS. The above questions are not intended to be rhetorical. In other words, I'd sincerely like to know what thought process one might employ to rationalize an unwillingness to expend one's own resources to help mitigate suffering, while at the same time criticising others for failing to do enough? As mentioned above, the comparison is made more stark by the fact that many others with far fewer resources than Cher, Michael Moore et al, are opening their homes and wallets to help.
Further, Michael Moore and others like him advocate a socialist/communist agenda. Michael Moore is asininely wealthy, his net worth has been estimated at somewhere around forty million dollars. By what thought process does Mr. Moore reconcile his beliefs concerning social equality in the abstract, with his apparent personal aversion to social equality?
What's up with that?
I'd really like to know.
Really.
